The city has been buried by 7 times, and has endured numerous earthquakes, following these natural disasters many of the ancient monuments have been destroyed. There are however still a few left, including:

- The Theatre, dating back to the 2nd century.
- The Amphitheatre, dating back to the 2nd century.
- The Odeon, dating back to the 3rd century.
