The multilingual staff of our 18th century hotel in the heart of Florence provide traditional Tuscan hospitality in a friendly, smoke-free establishment with spacious rooms including free wireless internet access.

Our rooms can accommodate families and groups. White walls and tiled floors throughout help to keep the hotel bright and cool. 7 of the 14 rooms have wonderful views overlooking the city.

When its time to relax, the library and reading room have an abundance of books, magazines and tourist guides for you to peruse, as well as an internet point, and the hotel bar lounge is open 24 hours a day.

A varying and vast breakfast buffet, served every morning, gives you the chance to fuel up on your choice of a sweet or savoury breakfast with Italian coffees and fruit juices.

Breakfast is served in a charismatic breakfast room, with terracotta flooring, wood furniture and adorned with fresh flowers. The buffet, always abundant and vast in selection, changes with the season; there is plenty to choose from every morning. Upon request, breakfast can be served directly in your room by our staff.

Hotel Colomba is also surrounded by numerous restaurants and taverns specialising in Florentine cuisine. Along with traditional Tuscan cooking, you can savour the fine Chianti and Brunello wines.

Michelangelo’s David is only 300 metres from the hotel in the Galleria dell’Accademia. Strolling along the historical street of Via Cavour will lead you right to Piazza del Duomo and the Tower of Giotto; you can climb its steps and be rewarded with a magnificent view of the entire city.

Continue your journey on foot and explore the unmistakable Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio and the monumental Ponte Vecchio. We are happy to book your admission to the many museums and guided tours offered within and outside the city.

For the shoppers, San Lorenzo’s open market is only a few minutes’ walk away and the charismatic Via Tornabuoni has countless refined boutiques.

By Public Transport::
The 'Vola in Bus' service will take you to the central train station Santa Maria Novella in approximately 20 minutes. From there, it is around a 7 minute walk or 2 minutes on one of the many buses that pass along Via Cavour: number 1, 7, 10 or 17.

A taxi from the airport will reach Hotel Colomba in around 20 minutes.

By Train:
The central train station is approximately 600 metres from the hotel. From there, cross Piazza della Stazione and enter onto Via Panzani in the direction of Duomo. Continue ahead for Via dei Cerretani and turn left onto Via Cavour. Or as above.

By Car:
From the South:
- Exit at Firenze South and follow signs for Centro.
- Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of Lungarno del Tempo.
- Continue towards Piazza Beccaria along Viale Gramsci and viale Matteotti in the direction of Piazza della Libertà.
- Turn right at the roundabout onto Via Cavour (it will be the 2nd street on your right).
- After passing Piazza San Marco, the hotel is approximately 100 metres away.

From the North:
- Exit at Firenze Nord and follow signs for Centro.
- Once you reach the Fortezza da Basso, enter Via Lavagnini and continue until you reach Piazza della Libertà.
- Turn right onto Via Cavour (it will be the 2nd street on your right).
- After passing Piazza San Marco, the hotel is around 100 metres away.
