Housed in an elegant 19th century villa that later served as the British consulate when Florence was the Italian capital, this hotel offers a peaceful English-style garden in which to relax.

There are also 2 public gardens within 5 minutes' walking distance, including the Botanic Gardens, dating back to 1545. The area around the hotel is peaceful, yet you will only be a 10-minute walk from the fabulous Duomo and only slightly further from the Fortezza da Basso, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria. With easy access from the Florence ring road and on-site parking, you can leave the car here.

The simple yet spacious bedrooms are equipped with antique furniture and carefully selected textiles, providing a comfortable family atmosphere. Some of them even have frescoed ceilings.

The area around the hotel contains some of Florence's less well-known monuments, but which are still definitely worth a look. For example you could visit the Monastery of Saint Marco, containing the most important works of Beato Angelico. Close by are also Piazza SS. Annunziata (a famous Renaissance square), the archaeological museum, the Jewish synagogue and the Jewish cemetery.

By Car from the North:
- From the A1 motorway, take the Firenze Nord exit and follow the signs to the town centre.
- Continue along Viale Redi towards the centre of Florence.
- Cross the main boulevard and take Via G. Monaco.
- Turn left at Viale Fratelli Rosselli and drive under the railway.
- Continue along Via Filippo Strozzi, turn right and go along Viale S. Lavagnini.
- In Piazza della Libertà, keep to your right and continue along Viale Matteotti.
- When you are in Piazza Donatello, turn right into Via Alfieri.
- You will find the Hotel Liana on your left-hand side.

By Car from the South:
- From the A1 motorway, take the Firenze Sud exit and follow the signs to the town centre.
- Drive along the River Arno, following the Lungarno Aldo Moro, which becomes the Lungarno Cristoforo Colombo.
- When you find Ponte San Niccolò bridge on your left, turn right into Viale G. Amendola.
- You will pass Piazza Beccaria - continue straight onto Viale A. Gramsci.
- When you arrive in Piazzale Donatello follow the above directions.
